The Arietta Trio

The Arietta Trio is a mixed wind and strings ensemble composed of classically trained musicians from some of the country’s top music conservatoires. With its unique combination of flute, clarinet and cello, the Arietta trio has a unique sound that will make for a truly memorable occasion. The group is able to perform a wide range of genres, from classical to pop and rock, giving the versatility required to adapt to the individual client’s needs. Suitable for all occasions, the trio can enhance the experience of any event, whether it is a wedding or a private function.

Who’s Who

Jonty Hedges

Jonty studied flute at Birmingham Conservatoire with Judith Hall and Marie-Christine Zupancic. He also studied with Michael Cox from the age of 16. He has played a number of concertos, including the Ibert Flute Concerto, Vivaldi Concerto in C Major for Two Flutes and Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No.4 both with Judith Hall, also Mozart’s G Major Flute Concerto and his Flute and Harp Concerto. When not performing on the flute Jonty can be found at the back of orchestras and bands playing drum kit and percussion. 

Charlotte Wales

Charlotte began her musical career whilst studying clarinet at Chetham’s School of Music. She extended her studies at Birmingham Conservatoire where she also played saxophone and flute. Charlotte frequently plays in musical shows across London including Westside Story, Oliver, Spamalot, Made in Dagenham & Legally Blonde and also works with the London Musical Theatre Orchestra. A highlight was performing in the premier of the musical ‘Yank!’ at The Charring Cross Theatre. Charlotte also works on touring shows including Feeling Good, Bye Bye Baby, Carpenters Experience and The Best of Wham.

Chris Hedges

Chris began playing cello when he was four years old and learnt with Sue Lowe from the age of seven.
Chris studied music at the University of Cambridge and was presented with the London Girton Association Award. He gave regular solo recitals and also enjoyed playing principal and co-principal cellist in a multitude of orchestras, including the University Symphony and Chamber Orchestras. This gave him the opportunity to work under some world renowned conductors. Chris recently completed his Masters at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Tim Lowe. During his time at Guildhall, he was co-principal cellist of several orchestral projects, performing in the Barbican under, as well as playing in a variety of chamber ensembles.
